Catholic England: Pilgrimage with the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter

May 16-27, 2027

$6,000 CAD (plus air)

Join fellow parishioners on a journey through the living story of Catholic England, from the northern saints of York and Durham to England’s Nazareth at Walsingham, and the witness of the English Martyrs in London and Canterbury.

Together, we will celebrate daily Mass, pray in ancient cathedrals and quiet shrines, and walk where faith endured through centuries of challenge and renewal. Along the way there will be time for fellowship, reflection, and discovery – deepening both our faith and our life as a parish community.

This is more than a tour. It is an opportunity to pray, to learn, and to journey together, returning home strengthened, encouraged, and renewed.

We will spend 4 nights in York, 3 nights in Walsingham, and 3 nights at Aylesford Priory.

Booking is currently restricted to parishioners.

Is this pilgrimage for you?

You should be in good physical shape.

We’ll walk a fair bit each day – sometimes on cobblestones, sometimes on uneven abbey grounds, sometimes on country paths that might be wet. Expect gentle hills, stairs in old houses with no lifts, and standing during tours. It’s not strenuous, but you should feel steady on your feet and comfortable walking 3–4 miles throughout the day.

You must carry your own luggage.

Some of our hotels are historic properties and may not have elevators. We also do not have porters. A light packing list will be provided.

You need to be flexible.

England is beautiful, but it comes with surprises – quick weather changes, early abbey closures, and country lanes that get muddy after a rain. If you can roll with these things and enjoy the unexpected moments that make pilgrimages special, you’ll be fine. If you need everything perfectly predictable, this may not be the right fit.

Consider all of this before signing up.

If you enjoy exploring by foot, don’t mind English weather, and like a bit of adventure with your prayer and history, you’ll fit right in.

Trip insurance is a wise investment in case something comes up before or during your trip to England. If you think there is any chance you may need to cancel, I recommend you purchase travel insurance. A “Cancel for Any Reason” plan will let you cancel for ‘most’ any reason. Most plans should allow for at least a 75% refund should you need to cancel at any time before departure.
