I’m Lauren — an American living in London with my husband and two boys. After more than a decade working in tech, I felt the tug to do something different — something closer to what truly lights me up: faith, history, storytelling, and a good walk through an old city.
It started with family adventures — stepping into quiet churches, spotting saint statues in unlikely corners, and realizing just how much of England’s Catholic story is still here, waiting to be found. Not erased, just hidden.
That’s how Hidden Catholic was born: out of a desire to share those discoveries and invite others to see the sacred still alive in this land.
About Hidden Catholic
Hidden Catholic offers immersive, story-rich tours that reveal the Catholic history woven into England’s streets, churches, and cultural landmarks — especially here in London. These experiences are for anyone curious about history here in England or how faith endured and where it still lives on today.
My tours combine historical insight with the stories of saints, martyrs, and everyday believers who kept the faith alive — often in secret, always with courage. From tucked-away chapels to major cathedrals, we connect the past to the present in a way that’s informative, engaging, and deeply human.
Mission
At Hidden Catholic, my mission is to bring light to England’s Catholic heritage — a history often overlooked but never truly lost. Through carefully curated tours, I help others encounter these stories in context: historically rich, spiritually meaningful, and grounded in place.
I believe history is best understood on the ground — by walking the streets, visiting the sites, and hearing the stories of those who lived through times of change, conflict, and quiet resilience.
By offering accessible, insightful tours, I aim to create space for reflection, understanding, and renewed appreciation of England’s complex spiritual and cultural heritage.
