This 3-hour guided tour takes you on a journey through London’s royal traditions and religious heritage. Begin with the Changing of the Guard, an iconic symbol of British pomp, then delve into the architectural and spiritual wonders of Westminster Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, each offering unique perspectives on the city’s faith and history. See the iconic Big Ben, and end at the London Oratory, known for its exquisite design and role in Catholic worship.

  • Changing of the Guard: Watch this iconic ceremony steeped in British tradition. On the tour, we will watch the guards process from St. James Palace to Buckingham Palace with the band playing (which is the best and most interesting part of the event!) before moving on to the next stop of the tour.
  • Westminster Abbey: Discover the history of coronations, weddings, and burials at this world-famous church. (Admission not included. If you would like to visit inside, please request below.)
  • Big Ben: Admire one of London’s most iconic landmarks, standing tall over the city.
  • Westminster Cathedral: Discover the heart of Catholic England, with its breathtaking mosaics and sacred history.
  • London Oratory: Explore one of London’s most beautiful Catholic churches, known for its serene atmosphere.

More info about this tour

  • The tour lasts approximately 3 hours, beginning at 10:30 am. We will meet in Green Park outside the Green Park Underground Station. The tour will end at London Oratory in Kensington.
  • This tour is only available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in alignment with the Changing of the Guard’s schedule.
  • Please wear comfortable shoes as we will be walking to all of these sites, with the exception of travel to London Oratory (included in price) – please let me know if special accommodations are needed.

Is this tour suitable for kids?

Of course! Also, let me know the ages – London has lots of green spaces so I can always make time to stop at one and so they can let off some steam.

I’m not Catholic, will I still enjoy the tour?

Yes! Being Catholic is not a requirement. If you enjoy learning about history and seeing places away from the typical sites, you will enjoy this.

Do you cancel if it rains?

Considering this is London and rain is always imminent, the tour will go on! Best thing to do is prepare for anything and bring layers. Depending on the time of year, I can provide recommendations if you are concerned.

Can I visit another place that is not on the tour?

What should I wear?
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Depending on the time of year, I would also recommend layers and rain coat/umbrella.
